We've just rolled out a handy update that should make adding buses to BusOva a little bit easier!
Auto-Fill from DVLA
When you're adding a new bus, hit the DVLA Lookup button after entering the registration and we'll automatically pull in details from the DVLA database. No more hunting around for basic specs!
The lookup now grabs:
- Manufacturer - automatically matched to our database
- Year of Manufacture
- First Registered Date
- Fuel Type
- Emission Standard
- Cylinder Capacity - handy for identifying engine variants
- Revenue Weight - the gross vehicle weight in kg
- Wheelplan - e.g. "2 AXLE RIGID BODY"
- Type Approval - M3 for buses, M2 for minibuses
- DVLA Colour
Of course, you can still edit any of these fields manually if the DVLA data isn't quite right or you have more specific information.
New Technical Section
We've also tidied up how bus information is displayed. You'll now see a dedicated Technical section on bus pages showing all the DVLA-sourced data in one place. We've added a small note to let everyone know this data comes from the DVLA - while it's usually accurate, occasionally things slip through, so if you spot an error feel free to suggest an edit!
